Ubisoft Releases Final Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update With New 'Real' Ending and Endgame Mode

The free Title Update 1.1.11 fixes the game’s contested ending with a concluding chapter that also links player progress and rewards to the upcoming Black Flag Resynced.

Overview

  • Title Update 1.1.11 went live on June 16, 2026 and is available across platforms, though some crossover features for the update will be limited or delayed on Nintendo Switch 2.
  • The centerpiece is the new Black Tides story quest that serves as a concluding chapter for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke, requires completion of the main campaign plus the A Critical Encounter and A Puzzlement post‑launch quests, and was created to address player criticism of the original ending.
  • Domains is a new endgame activity unlocked at level 30 that offers five simulation arenas across ten escalating difficulty levels, a dedicated in‑game shop and currency, and Domain‑exclusive gear and engravings that cannot be bought in the store.
  • Two crossover Projects, Riptides and Undertow, appear in the Animus HUB and let players earn themed outfits, weapons, and trinkets whose progress carries into Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026.
  • The patch bundles extensive gameplay, UI, quest, perk, and balance fixes documented in the full 1.1.11 notes, formally closes Shadows’ major post‑launch support, gives players narrative closure and fresh replay options, and intentionally positions Shadows as a bridge toward the next franchise entry.
