Overview
- Ubisoft has renamed its internal group formerly called Creative House 2 as Massive Entertainment and will have development teams in Montréal, Paris, Malmö and Toronto operate under that brand.
- The new Massive Entertainment will oversee Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell as well as March of Giants and unspecified new original IP.
- Christoph Hartmann has been appointed general manager of Massive Entertainment and Natalie Francis will serve as studio manager of the Malmö office.
- Ubisoft said the rebrand does not change ongoing commitments to players or partners and places the unit inside its broader Creative Houses structure that has included recent cost cuts and studio consolidations.
- The move builds on the Malmö studio’s Snowdrop-engine legacy and aims to combine creative and technical teams to speed franchise development, though it comes after multiple rounds of layoffs and studio closures that could shape staffing and timelines going forward.
