Overview
- Jitendrakumar Prajapati, 47, was sentenced Friday at Lincoln Crown Court to three years and eight months for rape after a guilty plea, with an 18-month concurrent term for sexual assault and a deportation order.
- He had delivered food to the woman in Boston, Lincolnshire, then used talk of needing visa and work help to get her Instagram and number before returning hours later to rape her.
- After leaving, he texted "Hey I am sorry," changed his WhatsApp username, enabled disappearing messages, and then apologized again when the victim accused him in chats.
- The woman reported the assault right away, police traced the delivery vehicle, and officers arrested Prajapati by about 9pm the same day, with a non-fatal strangulation allegation later dropped in court.
- Detective Constable Jessica McKiernan praised the victim's courage, saying her quick action let officers focus inquiries and find the suspect within hours.
