Overview
- MusiCares and the Recording Academy announced on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, that Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. will be honored at the 36th Persons of the Year gala.
- The gala will take place on Feb. 5, 2027, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, moving from the Los Angeles Convention Center because of Super Bowl–related preparations.
- For the first time in the event’s history individual theater seats for the tribute concert portion will be sold to the public, while traditional gala dinner tables will still be offered at higher price points.
- MusiCares said the award recognizes the band’s five-decade career and long-running activism on causes such as global health, disaster relief, addiction recovery, mental health and music education.
- Proceeds from the night will support MusiCares programs that provide medical, financial and addiction-recovery aid to music professionals, and performer lineups and full ticketing details will be announced in coming months.
