- MacGowan’s official Instagram announced that U2 and several Irish acts are joining 20th Century Paddy, a multi-artist tribute to the late Pogues frontman.
- The compilation, titled 20th Century Paddy - The Songs of Shane MacGowan, gathers roughly 40 performers to reinterpret his songs and is scheduled for release on 13 November.
- Two preview tracks have already been issued from the project: Bruce Springsteen’s A Rainy Night in Soho and Johnny Depp with Imelda May’s Haunted.
- Organisers have reported that at least 50% of artists’ royalties will be donated to Dublin Simon Community in recognition of MacGowan’s ties to the charity.
