Tyrel Bauer Wins AHL’s Yanick Dupré Memorial Award

  • Tyrel Bauer was chosen Tuesday by the AHL with IOA and American Specialty from 32 team honorees for his league Man of the Year award.
  • Bauer logged more than 40 appearances in the community, welcomed foster families to 15 Moose home games, coached a U-11 team at the Jets Hockey Academy, and took part in Project 11 and St. Amant visits.
  • He was the Moose’s team Man of the Year in 2025 and 2026 and is the franchise’s third league recipient after Jimmy Roy in 2003 and Jimmy Oligny in 2023.
  • On the ice this season, the 24-year-old played 52 games with one goal and four assists and set a career-high 110 penalty minutes after signing a one-year $775,000 deal, with restricted free agency expected this summer.
  • The AHL has presented the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award annually since 1998, named for the former Hershey Bears forward who died in 1997 after a battle with leukemia.
