Two Teens Arrested After Antisemitic Graffiti Spree in Sterling Heights

Prosecutors are reviewing possible charges in a case police labeled bias-motivated.

  • Police, called around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, say swastikas and other antisemitic symbols were sprayed at several spots near Shetland Court.
  • Officers arrested two 19-year-olds in a nearby parking lot and found spray paint, knives and marijuana.
  • Both teens are from out of state and remain lodged at the Macomb County Jail pending a charging decision.
  • The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case for possible charges.
  • City crews and a local pressure-washing contractor removed much of the graffiti as neighbors described fear and disgust.
