Two Teen Girls, One Man Drown in Separate Jharkhand Incidents

• Police said the Gumla deaths occurred Thursday around 10:30 am in the Chutia river near Basia.
• SDPO Nazir Khan said six girls from Shanichar Tola went to bathe and two entered deeper water and began drowning.
• Locals pulled the girls out and doctors at the Referral Hospital in Basia declared them dead.
• Police identified the victims as Kajal Kumari and Deep Shikha Kumari and sent the bodies to Gumla Sadar Hospital for post-mortems.
• In a separate case the same day, 21-year-old Subodh Kumar drowned while bathing at the Ghaghra dam reservoir in Hazaribag, and his body went to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for examination.
