Two Overnight Drive-By Shootings in Guildford Leave One Injured

Police are examining possible links to suspicious car fires.

Overview

  • A 26-year-old walking on O'Connor Street about 11pm was shot in the right calf and left foot from a dark-coloured hatchback and taken to hospital in a stable condition.
  • About 50 minutes later, three rounds were fired into a home on O'Neill Street from a dark grey Hyundai i30, with no injuries reported inside.
  • Detectives established crime scenes at both locations and said there is no confirmed link between the incidents, with separate vehicles believed to be involved.
  • Neighbour CCTV captured two shots and the injured man limping to a doorstep saying, "Someone shot me," before first aid and paramedics arrived.
  • Investigators are assessing any connection to several suspicious overnight car fires in nearby suburbs and urged anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
