Two Men Remanded on Burial-Conspiracy Charge in Milton Death Case

The case now has independent oversight by the police watchdog.

  • Orinta Narbutaite, 32, was found dead in Main Street, Milton at 3:12 a.m. on March 20, and detectives opened a murder investigation.
  • Donatas Noreika, 37, and Arturas Karvelis, 45, also known as Arturas Bockus, are charged with conspiring to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a body and are due at Nottingham Crown Court on April 20.
  • Officers searched a bungalow at Longbow Residential Park as part of the inquiry, and a 64-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman arrested earlier were released without charge.
  • Her family issued a tribute through Nottinghamshire Police describing her as a devoted mother and asked for privacy as a senior detective warned against sharing unverified claims online.
  • Nottinghamshire Police referred their prior contact with Ms Narbutaite to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and appealed for information via 101 quoting incident 18 of March 20 or Crimestoppers.
