Two Men Plead Not Guilty in Alleged Arson Plot Targeting Keir Starmer Properties

The court set a provisional April 27, 2026 trial date in a case prosecutors classify as non-terrorism.

Overview

  • Roman Lavrynovych and Petro Pochynok entered not guilty pleas at the Old Bailey to conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.
  • Ukraine-born Romanian national Stanislav Carpiuc did not enter a plea and remains charged with the same offense.
  • Prosecutors allege three coordinated fires between May 8 and May 12 targeted a Toyota RAV4 once owned by Keir Starmer and two north London addresses linked to him, with no injuries reported.
  • Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb described the circumstances as “somewhat opaque” and said the incidents were plainly coordinated, with motive unestablished.
  • All three appeared via videolink from HMP Belmarsh, were remanded in custody, and are due back at the Old Bailey on November 28 ahead of the High Court trial.
