Two Men Dead, Two Women Airlifted After UTV Crash on Sandy Creek Property

Police have launched a forensic crash probe that includes a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.

Overview

  • Emergency services were called about 1:30pm Monday to a Cedarvale Road property at Sandy Creek, north of Kilcoy.
  • The Polaris Ranger went over an embankment and hit a tree while carrying four people and a dog.
  • A 59-year-old man driving the UTV and another male passenger died at the scene, and the dog also died.
  • A 33-year-old woman was flown to Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital in critical condition, and a 50-year-old woman was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.
  • Police reported life‑threatening and serious injuries among the survivors, and the Forensic Crash Unit has towed the UTV for examination.
