Overview
- Easton officers responded to an alarm just after midnight Wednesday and the homeowner told police she and her three children heard intruders at the rear of the house.
- Two officers chased and captured one suspect in the backyard, and a Massachusetts State Police K-9 located the second suspect in nearby woods a short time later.
- Police identified the suspects as 25-year-old Ernst Lacrete of Quincy and 25-year-old Lavar Benson of Dorchester and say both were masked and wearing rubber gloves during the break-in.
- Officers recovered a loaded Glock equipped with a 30‑round high-capacity magazine and both men were charged with home invasion and multiple firearm offenses.
- Lacrete and Benson were arraigned at Taunton District Court, pleaded not guilty, are being held without bail, and will return next week for a dangerousness hearing while the investigation continues.
