Two Killed in Separate Meath Crashes as Gardaí Probe M3 and N51 Scenes

Investigators are seeking dash-cam footage from motorists who travelled the affected routes around the crash times.

Overview

  • A two-car collision on the N51 at Boyerstown around 7:45am left a woman in her 40s dead at the scene.
  • Three others in the same car were seriously injured, including a teenage girl airlifted to Children’s Hospital Ireland, Temple Street, while the driver and a third passenger were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
  • The driver of the second car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
  • In a separate incident around 2:00am on the M3 at Dunshaughlin, the van driver, a man in his 40s, died at the scene following a collision with a truck, whose driver was taken to Connolly Hospital as a precaution.
  • Both scenes are closed for Garda forensic examinations, with appeals for dash-cam footage from the N51 between 7:15am and 8:00am and from the M3 (Junctions 5–6) between 1:15am and 2:15am, and information can be provided to Navan or Ashbourne garda stations or the Garda Confidential Line.
