Two Killed in Hegewisch Minivan-Semi Crash

Officials have identified one victim as the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit continues its probe.

  • A Dodge Grand Caravan rear-ended a semi truck that was turning left in the eastbound lane on the 2700 block of East 130th Street in Hegewisch on Friday morning, according to Chicago police.
  • Two men who were inside the minivan were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and were pronounced dead, and no other injuries were reported.
  • Cook County authorities have identified one of the victims as 33-year-old Jawaan Chick while the other victim’s name has not been released.
