  • The Friday avalanche crossed a cross-country ski trail that had not been groomed because of elevated avalanche risk.
  • On Saturday around 2:15 p.m., an avalanche on the east face of l’Arpelin swept two ski tourers; a 33-year-old from Lyon later died at the hospital and his companion survived after being pinned against a tree.
