Two Jailed for Luring and Raping 13-Year-Old in Hull Hotel

The judge said the intoxicated victim did not stand a chance after being frog-marched to a hotel room.

Overview

  • Shahram Ibrehemi, 20, was sentenced to nine years and seven months and Riley Smith, 19, to seven years, with both required to serve at least two-thirds before parole consideration.
  • Ibrehemi admitted rape, while Smith was convicted by a jury at Grimsby Crown Court and refused to attend his sentencing.
  • The court heard the girl had stated she was 13 and was heavily intoxicated when led to Smith’s hotel room, where Ibrehemi repeatedly raped her as Smith acted as a lookout.
  • CCTV and hotel staff observations supported the case, capturing Smith pacing outside, urging Ibrehemi to hurry, and the girl barely able to walk, before Humberside Police made arrests.
  • Both men were placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and barred from working with children, and the court heard the Home Office may consider deportation for Ibrehemi, an asylum seeker from Iran.
