Overview
- The collision occurred near the Fairway Buoy outside Karachi Port on the evening of May 28 and involved a UAE-flagged cable ship (MV NIWA) and a Liberian-flagged container vessel (reported as MV Popo/MV PAPU).
- Karachi Port Trust marine teams deployed multiple tugboats and safely brought the damaged cable vessel into Karachi Harbour while the container ship was held at outer anchorage.
