Two Early-Morning Fatal Road Collisions in Meath and Tipperary
Forensic teams have closed both scenes to allow investigators to gather witness testimony and camera footage.
Overview
- An unidentified man on an e-scooter was killed after a collision with a car on the Kentstown Road in Navan at about 1:45am on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
- The car’s driver, a man in his 60s, and a passenger in their 20s were reported uninjured and the Meath scene was preserved for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
- Gardaí asked anyone travelling in the Navan area between 1:00am and 1:45am to provide dash-cam or CCTV footage and to contact Navan Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.
- A separate single-vehicle crash on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Thurles at about 3:45am on Sunday killed a man in his late teens and his body was taken to Waterford University Hospital with the coroner notified.
- Both scenes remain subject to active Garda inquiries with local diversions in place as investigators collect forensic evidence and seek witness accounts to establish the circumstances of each crash.
