Two Dead, One Wounded in South Shore Shooting Linked to Attempted Sale

- Gunfire erupted around 5:20 p.m. Sunday in the driveway of an apartment complex in the 6900 block of South South Shore Drive.
- Two men were pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, including a 26-year-old shot in the chest at the scene and a 27-year-old found about a mile away with a neck wound.
- A third man, 32, was shot in the arm and taken to the same hospital in fair condition.
- According to a police report, two cousins, ages 24 and 26, were meeting buyers for shoes when the older relative tried to sell a firearm, after which the 24-year-old left the area after being held at gunpoint in his car.
- A rifle and two semi-automatic handguns were recovered next to the 26-year-old, a vehicle on South Constance Avenue was towed for evidence, and Area One detectives have announced no arrests.
