Overview
- Detectives charged 28-year-old Macey Collins of Carina Heights with murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson after a car was set alight.
- A 42-year-old Eagleby man was charged as an accessory to murder along with arson, unlicensed driving, using a vehicle with cancelled plates, failing to appear and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
- The victim, a 41-year-old man, was found with gunshot wounds on Rowanda Street in Slacks Creek in the early hours of December 5 and later died in hospital.
- Collins' case briefly appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 9 and was adjourned to February 4 at Beenleigh Magistrates Court, while the Eagleby man was listed to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court the same day.
- Investigators say those involved were known to one another, and concern about recent violence has grown after a separate Beenleigh killing where a 22-year-old has now been charged with murder.
