Two Charged in Montgomery Homicide of Eldrick McNeal

Police say the arrests advance their probe with both men booked into the county detention facility and court processing expected next.

Overview

  • Officers found 40-year-old Eldrick McNeal with a fatal gunshot wound on the 3400 block of Texas Street and pronounced him dead after responding to the scene on Thursday, June 11.
  • Montgomery police charged 37-year-old Travis Delbridge with murder and booked him into the Montgomery County Detention Facility on June 14.
  • Authorities added a second murder charge on June 15 when they booked 39-year-old Curtis Julius into the same detention facility.
  • Police spokeswoman Lt. Ernestina McGriff identified both suspects and said Delbridge is accused of shooting McNeal; neither man has spoken publicly and court records show Julius currently lacks an attorney.
  • The arrests follow an MPD investigation that solicited public tips after a series of recent overnight shootings and will move next to arraignments and prosecutorial filings under the presumption of innocence.
