Two Brush Fires Near Lancaster Trigger Shelter-in-Place and Evacuation Warnings

High winds in red-flag conditions are complicating firefighting.

  • AlertLA County ordered a 1 p.m. shelter-in-place near 110th Street and West Avenue E-8 and issued evacuation warnings for zones LAC-E1329, LAC-E1376, LAC-E1639 and LAN-E002.
  • Officials have not determined a cause, and there are no confirmed injuries or structural losses to date as the National Weather Service warns gusts could reach 60 mph.
