Two Brothers Jailed for Rape After London Christmas Attack

A Court of Appeal ruling ordering a full retrial made the convictions possible.

Overview

  • The brothers, sentenced Wednesday at Kingston Crown Court, received 10 and 8 years in prison and were placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
  • The attack happened in December 2023 after the woman left a Christmas event in Queensbury, where CCTV showed her trying to escape before being forced into a rented room and raped.
  • After a judge ruled in November 2024 there was no case to answer, the Court of Appeal overturned that decision and a retrial led to guilty verdicts on February 27, 2026.
  • Specialist Met detectives rebuilt the case with hours of CCTV review, phone data analysis, witness interviews and urgent forensic work.
  • Following sentencing, the victim thanked officers for sustained support, and the Met says bespoke training for 23,000 staff has strengthened rape investigations and tripled charge rates.
