Two Arrests Made in Lisa Dorrian Murder Inquiry in Northern Ireland and Scotland

Detectives highlight cross-border cooperation in inquiries intensifying days before the case’s 21-year mark.

Overview

  • Police arrested a 40-year-old woman in Bangor on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information and preventing a lawful and decent burial, and she remains in custody.
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested in Scotland on the same suspicions with assistance from Police Scotland and PSNI Cross-Border Transit Officers.
  • Lisa Dorrian, 25, was last seen after a party at Ballyhalbert Caravan Park on February 27–28, 2005, and detectives believe she was murdered that night.
  • Her body has not been found, and investigators from the PSNI Major Investigation Team continue to appeal for information via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
  • The long-running case has involved extensive searches and public appeals, and a 68-year-old man was previously arrested in December in connection with the investigation.
