Two Arrested Over Shooting of Influencer 'El Profe' During Phone Sale

A viral cellphone video helped police identify suspects as the prosecutor prepares charges in the armed robbery and shooting case.

Overview

  • The influencer known as “El Profe” was shot in the right leg during an arranged March sale of two iPhones and recorded the attack on his phone, footage that later went viral.
  • Investigators from the Policía de la Ciudad and DIC 4 used the victim’s video to identify suspects and executed an early raid that led to the arrest of a 21‑year‑old alleged to be the shooter at an apartment on Luna al 1700.
  • On June 8, police from Comisaría Vecinal 4D detained a second suspect, a 26‑year‑old with prior records, after officers spotted him at the corner of Hornos and California and he tried to flee.
  • Both suspects are now at the disposal of Fiscalía Criminal y Correccional Nº 23 under prosecutor Marcelo Retes and face charges of armed robbery (robo a mano armada) and injuries (lesiones).
  • The case highlights the risk of in‑person sales of high‑value electronics and shows how user‑recorded evidence can speed identification of attackers and shape criminal investigations and prosecutions.
