Overview
- Detectives arrested two men, aged 18 and 21, on suspicion of murder after Sunday’s update named the victim as 26-year-old Farmanullah Sherzad.
- Officers were called at 10:17pm Friday to Abbey Orchard Street in Westminster, where they found Sherzad with stab wounds and gave first aid before he died in hospital.
- A post-mortem found he died from multiple sharp force injuries, and specialist officers are supporting his family.
- Police appealed for witnesses to call 101 quoting CAD 8270/27MAR or to share tips via Crimestoppers or the Major Incident Public Portal.
- The attack occurred a short walk from Westminster Abbey and St James’s Park, and patrols in the busy area have been increased to reassure the public.
