Overview
- A traffic stop Tuesday on a vehicle with stolen license plates led Hollywood Park officers to detain Sean Christopher Martinez, 37, and Skylar Cheri Carter, 33, and to find about 400 pieces of stolen mail and parcels in the car.
- Detectives searched Martinez’s home and a hotel room linked to the pair and recovered additional stolen mail, checks, credit cards, identity documents and equipment used to make counterfeit IDs.
- Investigators also seized burglary and vehicle-theft tools, counterfeit postal master keys, an AR-style rifle, rifle parts, a ghost-gun handgun kit, ammunition and methamphetamine.
- Martinez and Carter face multiple charges including mail theft, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, unlawful conduct with mail keys or locks, drug possession, and Martinez is charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.
- The probe is active with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the U.S. Secret Service South Texas Cyber Fraud Task Force working with local detectives who are asking the public to call Hollywood Park police at 210-494-3575 and reference case No. 26-3793 while victims check accounts and credit for signs of fraud.
