Two Arrested in 2025 Colorado Springs Homicide
Arrests followed warrants issued after an 18-month police probe that remains active.

- A woman, later identified by the El Paso County coroner as 35-year-old Andrea Martinez, was found fatally shot on January 1, 2025 in the 5800 block of Oakwood Boulevard in northeast Colorado Springs.
- Following an 18-month investigation, Colorado Springs Police obtained arrest warrants on June 17, 2026 charging two people in connection with Martinez’s death.
- Police say 27-year-old Brandy Cantu was arrested by the CSPD Violent Offender Fugitive Taskforce on June 18, 2026 and 22-year-old Ricky Gomez turned himself in the following day; both were booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
- Cantu faces a second-degree murder charge while Gomez faces charges of being an accessory to a crime and tampering with physical evidence.
