- The Tuscaloosa News posted boys and girls nominee lists for the Feb. 28–March 6 cycle, continuing its weekly public Athlete of the Week polls.
- Boys nominees include Ford Traweek (23 points, nine rebounds, 15-for-16 FT), Kane Rushing (14 points, 10 rebounds in the 1A title game), Ridge Brown (no-hitter with 18 strikeouts), Arlin Perez (four goals), and Zai Davis (20 points, seven rebounds in the 7A semifinal).

- Parallel weekly polls continue across Alabama, with the Montgomery Advertiser’s girls vote running March 9–12 presented by the Vance Law Firm and its winner scheduled for announcement on March 13.
