Overview
- TTD formally received possession of roughly 10–10.33 acres at Amerigog/Sonapur on documents handed over by Assam officials this week.
- The Assam government completed registration of the plot in favour of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and the land possession certificate was given to a TTD delegation led by chairman B. R. Naidu.
- TTD says the site sits near the Maa Kamakhya pilgrimage area in the valley between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and will serve devotees in the Northeast who now travel to Tirupati.
- Officials have scheduled a bhoomi puja as the next public step and will finalise foundation and architectural plans in consultation with the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Assam.
- The project is part of an Andhra Pradesh initiative to establish replica Sri Venkateswara temples across states and carries political and administrative visibility because of direct chief minister-level engagement.
