TSA Partners With Google Wallet to Expand TSA PreCheck Touchless ID

The integration simplifies opt-in for facial verification so vetted travelers can move through select PreCheck lanes more easily.

Overview

  • TSA and Google announced the partnership on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and said Google Wallet will begin a staged rollout over the coming weeks that adds an in-app opt-in for Touchless ID.
  • Eligible travelers add a passport and save their boarding pass in Google Wallet, tap a “Get started” prompt that redirects to a TSA consent page, and then receive a Touchless ID badge on their boarding pass after TSA confirms enrollment.
  • The program works at 65 U.S. airports with dedicated Touchless ID lanes and will support more than 100 TSA PreCheck airlines at participating airports once the Wallet integration finishes rolling out.
  • Google and TSA say digital IDs are encrypted and stored on the device and that the wallet shares data with TSA only after the user explicitly consents and unlocks the phone with a biometric, PIN, or pattern.
  • The integration removes the prior need to upload passport details separately for each airline, which should speed sign-up for many travelers, though Touchless ID will remain unavailable at airports and on carriers that do not participate.
