TSA Offers $20 Off PreCheck for Travelers 30 and Under in May

The agency aims to draw younger flyers into faster security lanes before the summer rush.

Overview

  • TSA said Wednesday it will take $20 off the five-year signup fee for first-time applicants aged 30 and under from May 1 to May 31.
  • The discounted price runs from $56.75 to $65 based on the chosen enrollment provider, which can be CLEAR, IDEMIA, or Telos.
  • Applicants start online, then finish a brief in-person visit at one of more than 1,300 locations, with most receiving a Known Traveler Number in about three to five days.
  • PreCheck members use dedicated lanes where TSA reports 99% wait under 10 minutes and they can keep laptops, small liquids, belts, and light jackets in place.
  • TSA is pitching the offer to recent grads and young adults ahead of peak summer travel to help more people move through checkpoints faster.
