Overview
- Trump, reacting Friday to a CNN segment on a UMass Lowell poll, called Tucker Carlson a “Low IQ person” and labeled Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones overrated, with Owens singled out as “mentally ill.”
- Following Thursday’s heated Fox News exchange, he targeted The Five co-host Jessica Tarlov as “one of the Least Attractive and Talented People,” accused her of making up polls, and demanded “GET HER OFF THE AIR.”
- Also Thursday, he ripped ex–National Counterterrorism Center director Joe Kent as a “SLEAZEBAG” and “A LEAKER,” recounted hiring him out of sympathy, and grouped him with conservative critics of his Iran war as “LOSERS.”
- The UMass Lowell poll cited on CNN showed Trump with a net +61 favorability among Republicans versus Carlson’s +7, which CNN analyst Harry Enten said means GOP voters choose Trump “every single time.”
- Tarlov denied fabricating polling and promoted her upcoming book, Owens mocked the post, and some Trump backers voiced regret online, even as reports note Trump still enjoys strong favorability among Republicans.
