Travel Guidance Issued for BRIT AwardsManchester Debut at Co-op Live

Officials will let BRITs ticket-holders ride Metrolink for free to ease expected congestion.

Overview

  • The ceremony takes place Saturday, February 28 at Co-op Live, the first BRITs held outside London, with a scheduled 8:15pm start airing on ITV and YouTube.
  • The Bee Network warns roads around the Etihad Campus will be very busy from late afternoon through the evening and urges travelers to allow extra time.
  • Metrolink will accept BRITs tickets for free travel across all zones, with queues expected after the show and the last direct tram to Piccadilly at approximately 1:36am.
  • Official parking is provided by Vertu in the Orange zone near the Etihad Stadium, costs £25 per car, requires advance booking via Ticketmaster, and drop-off and pick-up traffic is expected to add delays.
  • A signed, well-lit walking route between Piccadilly station and the Etihad Campus takes about 35–40 minutes, with Holt Town and Velopark also within walking distance, and demand will spike again after the 10:15pm finish and the on-site after-show running to around 1am.
