Overview
- Toyota Gazoo Racing unveiled the GR Kart on Friday, and it is now on sale in Japan at a manufacturer price of 385,000 yen.
- The kart is factory-assembled at the Gamagori GR Kart workshop in Aichi to apply Toyota quality and durability standards rather than hand-built artisanal assembly.
- The chassis is sized to fit inside Toyota monovolumes such as the Noah and Voxy and can be stored upright with fluids in place to eliminate the need for a trailer.
- The single-seat cockpit adjusts for drivers between about 135 cm and 185 cm and the kart uses a 215 cc engine, belt drive with automatic tensioner, a self-recharging battery, and several safety-focused parts such as an anti-climb bumper and throttle-cable fix.
- Toyota is selling the GR Kart through seven GR Garage dealers and 36 partner kart tracks with plans to add more outlets and run exhibition events using carbon-neutral fuels to broaden grassroots access for children, youth and families.
