Overview
- Toyota Kirloskar Motor, which announced the project Monday, will start output in H1 2029 at a new Bidkin plant sized for 100,000 vehicles a year and about 2,800 jobs.
- The first vehicle will be a new SUV, though Toyota has not named the model and reports about a Land Cruiser FJ variant remain unconfirmed.
- The site will run full manufacturing steps including stamping, welding, painting and final assembly to serve buyers in India and in surrounding export markets.
- The company did not disclose the investment, and a 300 billion yen figure reported in Japanese media remains unconfirmed by Toyota.
- Bidkin sits on the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a planned manufacturing zone that could attract suppliers and spur more local employment beyond the factory gates.
