Toyota Begins Customer Deliveries of Ebella Electric SUV in India

The top-spec E3 is now being handed to buyers with a 61 kWh battery, premium kit and a reported Battery-as-a-Service option that cuts the upfront price.

Overview

  • Toyota has started customer deliveries of the Urban Cruiser Ebella, and the company is currently selling only the top-spec E3 model.
  • The E3 is priced at Rs. 23.60 lakh for the single‑tone and Rs. 23.80 lakh for the dual‑tone variant, ex-showroom, and Toyota’s marketing materials report a Battery-as-a-Service option that reduces the upfront cost to Rs. 15.25 lakh with a reported battery charge of Rs. 4.99 per km.
  • The E3 uses a 61 kWh battery paired with a front motor rated about 172 hp and 193 Nm, carries an ARAI-certified 543 km range claim, and supports DC fast charging from 10–80% in roughly 45 minutes.
  • Ebella is a badge-engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki eVitara built on Suzuki’s Heartect-e skateboard platform and is made at Suzuki Motor Gujarat, but Toyota positions the Ebella with a more premium specification and added ownership supports such as an eight-year battery warranty and expanded dealer readiness.
  • Toyota has announced lower E1 and E2 trims and a 49 kWh battery option that are not yet on sale, and the higher price positioning versus rivals like Maruti’s eVitara and Hyundai’s Creta Electric could shape buyer choices as the model rolls out.
