Overview
- The Ontario Special Investigations Unit says its director has reasonable grounds to believe Const. Parsa Hazeri committed sexual offences against a girl in Toronto between September and December 2025.
- Hazeri was arrested at SIU headquarters, charged with multiple offences including sexual assault and transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under 16, and released on bail with conditions that bar contact with the alleged victim.
- Toronto Police revoked Hazeri’s operational authorities, suspended him and Chief Myron Demkiw has started suspension-without-pay and termination proceedings under the Community Safety and Policing Act.
- Both the SIU and Toronto Police are limiting public comment because the matter is before the courts and the criminal process will guide further public and investigative steps.
- Hazeri is 27, was assigned to 33 Division and has three years of service, and he will return to court on a scheduled date as the case moves into pretrial and disclosure stages.
