Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport and other sources linked Juventus with active interest as they seek to replace Dusan Vlahovic and strengthen their central striking options.
Mateta, 28, scored 16 goals and provided three assists across competitions last season and scored in Crystal Palace’s Europa Conference League final as part of a run that also produced FA Cup and Community Shield wins.
His contract at Selhurst Park runs out at the end of next season, which increases Palace’s incentive to sell during this summer window rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.
