Tonys Set for June 7 Live Broadcast With P!NK Hosting and All Musical Nominees to Perform

Televising every nominated musical number with a Pluto TV pre-show will sharply raise exposure for the season's top productions.

Overview

  • The 79th Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ with a pre-show, The Tony Awards: Act One, on Pluto TV.
  • Recording artist P!NK is confirmed as the main ceremony host and Laura Benanti with Tituss Burgess will lead the Pluto TV pre-show.
  • Organizers have pledged to air performance slots from all nominated new musicals and revivals, including The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titanique, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Ragtime and The Rocky Horror Show.
  • The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! lead the field with 12 nominations each, followed by Ragtime with 11 and Death of a Salesman with nine.
  • Some non-competitive honoree acceptance speeches have been posted online, tickets remain on sale, and the season's record $1.91 billion box office underlines how televised exposure can affect Broadway ticket sales.
