- Police in South 24 Parganas arrested three local BJP workers Monday after a TMC worker was shot Sunday night in Gosaba.
- Dibyendu Gayen was hit in the right leg while riding home from a party meeting and is now being treated at Chittaranjan National Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
