Tiger Presence Confirmed in Medipalli Opencast as Search Teams Intensify Patrols
Forest officials are tracking a dispersing tiger to protect people working in coal-mine areas.

- Pug marks inside the closed Medipalli opencast mine on the outskirts of Godavarikhani confirmed a tiger’s presence, according to Telangana forest officials.
- Search teams reported tracks near Lingapur village graveyard, along the Godavari riverbank and beside a pump house during field checks on December 14–15.
- Vigil has been stepped up with special patrols, CCTV monitoring and animal trackers, with Singareni Collieries personnel assisting the effort.
- Residents of Lingapur, Medipalli, Malkapur, Pamulaparthi and Rayadandi were urged to stay alert and avoid going alone to agricultural fields.
- Officials said one tiger crossed the Godavari into Peddapalli as another continues to roam forests near Jaipur mandal in Mancherial, and many public sighting reports have been found false after verification.
