Overview
- Berlin’s traffic authority confirmed four consecutive overnight full closures from 20:30 to 05:00 on Feb. 16–17, 17–18, 18–19 and 19–20 in both directions.
- Repairs will address the tunnel’s fire alarm system and the fire sliding doors in the central wall that were damaged in an accident.
- During the closures, the M41 will not operate between Potsdamer Platz and Hauptbahnhof, and the M85 will not run between Kulturforum and Hauptbahnhof or Hauptbahnhof and Potsdamer Platz/Voßstraße.
- Officials cautioned that morning reopenings after the night work may be delayed if ice forms, with clearance required before traffic can resume.
- A short-notice full closure already took place on Feb. 9 from 13:30 to 21:30 between Reichpietschufer and Heidestraße for safety reasons.
