Overview
- The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Los Ralos at kilometer 19 of provincial route 303, where a red Volkswagen Gol Trend left the roadway and fell into a roadside canal.
- The deceased were identified by police as Lara Martina Santillán Sánchez, 18, Cristóbal Herrera, 18, and Lucas Benjamín Herrera, 19.
- Two other occupants, Agustín Herrera Díaz, 24, and José Jesús Herrera, 18, survived with multiple injuries and were hospitalized in Los Ralos.
- Police, forensic teams and emergency workers operated in heavy rain to recover the vehicle and assist the occupants, and the route was closed for more than two hours for on-site examinations.
- A prosecutor opened a case, ordered evidence collection at the scene and will take statements from witnesses and survivors as the exact cause remains under investigation.
