Overview
- Futuro Nazionale’s three deputies, voting Tuesday on the energy “decreto bollette” in the Chamber of Deputies, opposed the measure and refused confidence as the government still won 203–117 with 3 abstentions.
- The lawmakers are Rossano Sasso, Edoardo Ziello and Emanuele Pozzolo, a Vannacci-aligned trio whose move is the first time part of the ruling bloc has withheld confidence since this government took office.
- They argued the decree offers only a small bonus and urged redirecting funds to cut fuel prices, lower bills and boost purchasing power instead of sending money to Ukraine.
- On February 11 they opposed a Ukraine arms decree yet still backed confidence, a stance they dropped today to send a political signal that they say could change if policy moves right.
- Vannacci’s party is also consolidating as former Rome mayor Gianni Alemanno said his Indipendenza movement will fold into Futuro Nazionale after he accepted its badge.
