Three Teens Wounded in Separate Overnight Atlanta-Area Shootings

Investigators are asking the public for tips as police process two crime scenes to identify shooters and clarify what led to the attacks.

Overview

  • Police in Atlanta found a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old struck by gunfire at 2798 Peek Road after officers responded to a large dispute, and both victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • The 18-year-old taken to the hospital was arrested on active warrants from Georgia and other states and a woman at the scene was also detained, officials said.
  • South Fulton officers later found evidence of gunfire on the 4400 block of Cascade Road SW and learned a 17-year-old was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound; his condition has not been released.
  • Detectives from Atlanta Police and South Fulton’s Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene units continue active inquiries and have not announced any arrests in the South Fulton case.
  • Authorities asked anyone with information to come forward as the incidents highlight youth-involved gun violence and could increase pressure on local trauma care and investigative resources.
