Overview
- A man and two kindergarten teachers spent six to seven days sheltering in an evacuated refuge in the Cajón del Maipo before a Carabineros GOPE helicopter located and evacuated them when weather briefly improved.
- The group drove into the cordillera despite severe weather warnings and a preventive closure of Ruta G-25; their non-4x4 vehicle became stuck and they walked to a refuge whose owner left doors open and supplies.
