Three People Killed in Separate Fort Worth Shootings Over 19 Hours
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigations and police are appealing for tips and video as no arrests have been announced.
Overview
- The killings happened in three separate incidents on Sunday: a 4:30 a.m. nightclub parking-lot shooting on the 2300 block of South Riverside Drive that left one dead and one wounded, a about 10:30 a.m. residence shooting on the 4000 block of Ridglea Country Club Drive that killed a man, and a late-night discovery of a man shot near the 4300 block of Carter Park Drive around 11 p.m.
- In each case the shooter or shooters fled before officers arrived and Fort Worth police have not announced any arrests, leaving the cases active and unresolved.
- Fort Worth homicide detectives and the Major Case Unit are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses while investigators say the caller from the Ridglea Country Club Drive residence has not been ruled out as a suspect and other people who fled are being treated as persons of interest.
- The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will identify the victims after next-of-kin notifications and police are urging anyone with information to call the Fort Worth Police at 817-392-4222 or submit anonymous tips to Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS or 469tips.com.
- The cluster of Sunday killings follows other recent violent incidents in Fort Worth and has raised local safety concerns, which could prompt increased police presence, possible release of body-camera footage, and wider probes as investigators pursue leads.
