Three Overnight Louisville Shootings, Including Two on the Same Street, Leave One Dead

Detectives are examining any link between the Greenwood Avenue victims as LMPD urges anonymous tips and reports no suspects.

Overview

  • Officers responded around 11:30–11:40 p.m. to the 2900 block of Greenwood Avenue, where a man was found shot and taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Minutes later, police found a second man shot in the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue in the Parkland neighborhood, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the Greenwood Avenue case and working to determine any relationship between the two victims, and police say they have no suspects.
  • Separately around 11 p.m., a man was found shot on the 7000 block of Global Drive near PRP and hospitalized with what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries, and investigators think the shooting happened elsewhere.
  • In a third incident early Sunday, a man with a gunshot wound walked into Mary & Elizabeth Hospital; police tied the scene to Baxter Avenue and Hepburn Avenue, and ask anyone with information to call 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the online Crime Tip Portal.
